Winning in Weakness
Are you stuck on the title of this blog?
Do you believe you can still win in your weaknesses?
If you don't believe you can, I pray as you read this blog that the Lord imparts his power to every weak area in your life that you feel too vulnerable to expose.
As I was going through one of my many journals, I asked God to give me what to write. I ran across a page with a list of blog titles I wrote down on July 24, 2020.
Yep, you guessed it. The first title was "Winning in Weakness." I chuckled a little bit because God has been dealing with me in this area.
Disclaimer: Before I can share any message, know that it had to hit me first.
The way God spoke to me is how I'm writing it to share with you.
Immediately after beginning to write, Philippians 4:13 came to mind. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
You just read that scripture. Do you believe it? I'm sure you're saying -Yes, I believe it; because it's God's Word. When he asked me I said Yes!
He then asked, "Have your actions been aligning with Philippians 4:13? Do you move like you can do All things through Christ who gives you strength? Ouch, 😣 Quickly, I said, Lord, forgive me. At that moment, I knew my actions had not been aligning with that affirmation. I had been self-sufficient. Honestly, I did not want to appear weak.
(You know, when we are in our head, we develop these scenarios that are not even realistic.)
But if I can quote that scripture, in my weakest moments, I should believe, and stand firm and do what it is HE has called me to do. Right?
When I rely on God (not myself), HE empowers me to fulfill HIS Purpose that HE has placed within me. It's not by my strength or power. HE gives and sustains—the same for you when you rely on God's strength.
"He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless." Isaiah 40:29
My Perspective of Weakness:
This year I have been working extremely hard on becoming better. In every area of my life. Spiritually, mentally, and physically. I aspire to be more consistent, be bold and courageous, grow, heal, to name a few. So far, I have had moments where I felt I wasn't progressing. Times where I have paused because I didn't want to fail the test. I didn't want to say or do the wrong thing. I knew I needed God to help me pass it this time. Moments where I had to renew my thinking, I have so much unlearning to do. I realized when you are committed to healing and growing, the process gets tough. The process is never easy, but it is so worth it.
You know what?
Mindshift and Renewed Perspective:
My process to becoming doesn't equate to failure, and it sure doesn't disqualify me from being used by God. So here I put my weakness on display because it's not about me. God, you get the Glory for my Life and ALL you are doing in it and through it.
Dear God, Forgive me for wanting to be self-sufficient on this journey. Grow me up in you, Lord God, to not only be a hearer of your Word but a doer of your Word. Align my life and path for what you have for me. Grant me peace in the process and assurance that your Grace is all I need. Thank you for this teachable moment. I don't want to lose any opportunity because I'm afraid of exposing my weaknesses. Please help me to live out loud, for your Purpose, for your Glory. Boldly. Unashamed.
"Each time he said, "My Grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That's why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NLT
Spiritually winning in weakness is so possible. The things we think are unsalvageable, broken, and weak- God can and will use. Romans 8:28
When we operate in God's power and strength, - HIS Grace is all we need.
That's how you WIN in weakness.
"But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired."Isaiah 40:31 AMP
