The Power of Self- Control
How are you feeling now? No, really?! Most of us will say fine, but deep within we are worried, stressed and even on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Children are acting up, spouse is nagging about everything, and the boss is being unreasonable. You’re thinking I don’t have time for all this drama, but you’re also trying to control the situation. Maybe you have lost self-control and think your actions are justified because of how you feel at the moment.
Self-control has been my struggle lately. If you are struggling with this, you're not alone.
It is saying NO to your flesh(sinful nature) and because of our sinful nature, we need God’s help.
Without God helping us and giving us the strength we can do NOTHING!
How do I spend time with God? By reading His word daily (Bible), worship, and continual prayer.
Listed below I have several scriptures on self-control:
“Like a city that is broken down and without walls [leaving it unprotected] Is a man who has no self-control over his spirit [and sets himself up for trouble].” PROVERBS 25:28 AMP
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].” 2 TIMOTHY 1:7 AMP
