How to Quickly Shift Your Mindset
Updated: Feb 18
As a believer, you are not exempt from attacks of the enemy. A new perspective and renewing of our mind is something we must do daily. When negative thoughts are playing in our mind, we must speak God's word. However, when we have become accustomed to a self-deprecating life, it will not go away in a day, week, or month. It’s a process. The renewal of your mind comes first. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) We speak what we believe about ourselves and life.
Here are negative things we think:
1. I should give up;
2. It’s impossible;
3. This generational curse will continue;
4. I can’t do this; or
5. I feel alone.
When you feel alone, recite “I am with you always, even to the end of age (Matthew 28:20).”
Are you thinking about giving up? read “So, let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9).”
The word of God speaks truth to the lies of the enemy. If we entertain those negative thoughts without feeding ourselves the truth (which is God’s word); it becomes our reality.
Think positive thoughts, happy thoughts.
Every thought which comes into our minds we must capture every idea and make them obey Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Paul tells us, “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8).” If it doesn’t align with that scripture, THROW IT OUT.
The renewing of our mind takes perseverance on our part. Even in those moments when all is well, and nothing seems to be wrong, we must continue to speak God’s word until we feel it. Have faith to believe it until you see it manifest. The more we read the word, study, and memorize scripture, we can change the trajectory of how we think and believe about ourselves. This positive way of thinking changes our lives for the better.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right (2 Timothy 3:16).
What we feed our mind comes out.
Do you need a mind shift today?
If you said yes, I encourage you to continue fighting fear with faith.
FAITH over FEAR
Let's not only hearers of the Word but doers as well (James 1:22).
Prayer: Dear God, Give me your knowledge and understanding as I read your word. Renew my mind daily. Forgive me for believing every lie and negative thought. Replace the lies and every negative thinking with your truth. Grow in me a hunger and thirst to always seek after you O God. Forgive me for not always making time to be in your presence, to spend time in your word. Let your truth be louder than the lies. Thank you for healing and renewing my mind. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
