Have you noticed when you are progressing in life, someone or something comes and throws you off track?
I mean you’re confident in who you’re becoming in Christ, bolder, and fearless to do what God has called you to do. You’re choosing faith over fear and purpose over perfection.
Your marriage is on fire, good health, financial stability and everything else is aligning. Then, suddenly you hit a brick wall.
This brick wall can include negative thoughts and emotions, depression, isolation, a crisis in your marriage, financial issues, etc.
“What am I doing wrong?”
It’s a distraction.
Distraction | noun |
1. something that distracts: an object that directs one’s attention away from something else
2. a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else.
3. extreme agitation of the mind or emotions.
The enemy sends distractions to derail our progress and to keep us from fulfilling our purpose. He wants to cloud our mind with negative thoughts and emotions. It’s not a coincidence that that situation or person that God delivered you from is coming back up again.
“What’s up big ahead?
“Girl, let’s go have drinks?”
If we’re not careful, our emotions will rule us and cause us to fall back into the distractions, God has already delivered us from.
2 Ways to Overcome Distractions
1. Pray for God to stabilize your emotions;
2. Meditate on the word of God day and night.
Mm mm child…
This has been my struggle this week. I’ve been fighting to be my best self. I prayed for God to give me the strength to write this blog because I knew if I pressed through that breakthrough would happen for me and for you. All from me sharing my truth.
The enemy studies us, he knows what will break us down, he even knows our weaknesses. He’s hoping we don’t find our identity, God-fidence, or our strength to fight.
But “No weapon formed against you shall prosper. ( Isaiah 54:17 NKJV )
When you can recognize the devil’s schemes, and put on the full armor of God, you can fight back.
I declare and decree you have the faith to fight!
I declare and decree you shall have peace in your mind!
Keep fighting and pressing! Don’t Give Up!
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
Philippians 4:8 NLT
