Hidden in Plain Sight
On Saturday at our women’s empowerment session, my mentor spoke from 1 Samuel 16:3-13 with the topic Hidden in Plain Sight.
Below I have provided the scriptures for you, and later you can go back and study them:
“Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you which of his sons to anoint for me.” So Samuel did as the Lord instructed. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town came trembling to meet him. “What’s wrong?” they asked. “Do you come in peace?” “Yes,” Samuel replied. “I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Purify yourselves and come with me to the sacrifice.” Then Samuel performed the purification rite for Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice, too. When they arrived, Samuel took one look at Eliab and thought, “Surely this is the Lord’s anointed!” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Then Jesse told his son Abinadab to step forward and walk in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “This is not the one the Lord has chosen.” Next Jesse summoned Shimea, but Samuel said, “Neither is this the one the Lord has chosen.” In the same way all seven of Jesse’s sons were presented to Samuel. But Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen any of these.” Then Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.” “Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.” So Jesse sent for him. He was dark and handsome, with beautiful eyes. And the Lord said, “This is the one; anoint him.” So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah.”

Here are some main points from the message:
1. You were anointed at birth!
2. You have a purpose! You have been appointed as Kings and Queens, but there’s a process.
3. Check your heart posture.
4. Some of us have forgotten who God has called us to be.
5. Remember who you are and whose you are
6. We were created to worship God and bring him glory.
7. We must seek God’s face and not his hand.
8. Be a representation of whom God has called you to be.
9. We know who we are, but we are not there yet; maturity takes time.
10. They counted David out, but he was handling his business.
My Takeaway and Encouragement for You:
There were many great words of wisdom! However, one of the main thing that is important is that we should not be waiting until our 30s to discover that we have a PURPOSE. We must spread the word!
The church was my second home; I went every Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for Bible Study. As much church as I got, no-one told me I had a purpose or even talked on that subject. I remember a lot of do not.
However, there are many things I am still unlearning, and the Holy Spirit is teaching me.
It’s a process, and I’m so grateful that God has kept me, and he’s renewing my mind.
I want you to know that God created you on purpose - for a time such as this!
They may have counted you out, but your names have entered rooms, and they are going to be calling you, thus saith the Lord.️
Scriptures That Confirms You Were Born With Purpose:
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born, I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 NLT
“In Him also we have received an inheritance [a destiny—we were claimed by God as His own], having been predestined (chosen, appointed beforehand) according to the purpose of Him who works everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His will,”
EPHESIANS 1:11 AMP
“You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.”
JOHN 15:16 AMP
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2:10 NLT
